The Government of India issued Notification No. 23 (RE-2003)/2002-2007 on 19th November 2003, amending the ITC (HS) Classification of Export and Import Items, 2002-2007. This amendment, made under the powers of the Foreign Trade (Development & Regulation) Act, 1992, introduces a new entry under item code 2901, which pertains to “Organic Chemicals.” The newly added entry specifies that Anthranilic Acid (code 2901) is allowed for free export but requires a No Objection Certificate from the Narcotics Commissioner of India in Gwalior for certain listed items. This amendment is issued in public interest.

NEW DELHI DATED THE 19th NOVEMBER, 2003
S.O. (E) In exercise of powers conferred by Section 5 of the Foreign Trade (Development & Regulation) Act, 1992 (No.22 of 1992) read with Paragraph 1.1, 2.1 and 2.4 of the Export and Import Policy, 2002-2007, the Central Government hereby makes the following amendment in the ITC(HS) Classification of Export and Import Items, 2002-2007 as amended vide Notification No.3 (RE-2003)/2002-2007 dated 31st March, 2003 .
2. Against item code number 2901 under heading “Organic Chemicals” in Table B of Schedule 2 of ITC(HS) , the following new entry shall be added after 2901 (i ) :-
