The Ministry of Commerce and Industry, Government of India, issued Notification No. 17 (RE-2006)/2004-2009 on 3rd July 2006, amending its earlier Notification No. 15 dated 27th June 2006 under the Foreign Trade Policy 2004-2009. Exercising powers under Section 5 of the Foreign Trade (Development & Regulation) Act, 1992, the Central Government has extended the validity period of the amendment mentioned in Para 3 of Notification No. 15. Instead of the earlier provision where the amendment was valid for six months from the date of its issue, the validity has now been extended until the end of the financial year, i.e., up to 31st March 2007. This change has been issued in the public interest. The notification was signed by K.T. Chacko, Director General of Foreign Trade and Ex-Officio Additional Secretary to the Government of India, and communicated for compliance through the relevant departmental channels.

NEW DELHI, the 3rd July, 2006

S.O.(E) In exercise of the powers conferred by Section 5 of the Foreign Trade (Development & Regulation) Act, 1992 (No.22 of 1992) read with Para 1.3 and Para 2.1 of the Foreign Trade Policy, 2004-2009 , the Central Government hereby makes the following amendments in Notification No 15 dated 27th June 2006 :-

The period of effect of the amendment given In Para 3 of the above stated Notification shall be amended to read as “ till the end of the financial year ( i.e. upto 31.3.2007 )” instead of “ for a period of six months from the date of its issue”.
