Subject: Import of Steel items under Duty Exemption Scheme and by Export Oriented Units and Units in EPZs.

Attention is invited to Notification No.34 (RE-98)/97-2002 dated 10/12/98, No.35 (RE-98)/97-2002 dated 11/12/98 & Notification No.38 (RE-98)/97-2002 dated 22.1.99.

It is clarified that the restrictions regarding minimum import prices for steel items listed in the aforesaid Notifications will not be applicable to imports made under Advance Licences, Annual Advance Licences, Special Imprest Licences and Advance Intermediate Licences; and imports made by EOUs & units in EPZ.

This issues with approval of Director General of Foreign Trade.
