Import Policy of Patrol/surveillance Boats & Related Vehicles Revised to “Free

The Directorate General of Foreign Trade (DGFT), under the Ministry of Commerce & Industry, has amended the import policy for items under CTH 890690 of Chapter 89 of ITC (HS) 2022. As per Notification No. 55/2024-25-DGFT, issued on January 29, 2025, the import policy for patrol or surveillance boats, air-cushion vehicles, and remote-operated vehicles (ITC HS Code 89069010), as well as other items under 89069090, has been changed from “Restricted” to “Free” with immediate effect. The amendment is made under the Foreign Trade (Development & Regulation) Act, 1992, in accordance with the Foreign Trade Policy 2023. This change allows the import of these items without prior restrictions, facilitating easier trade and procurement. The notification has been issued with the approval of the Minister of Commerce & Industry.

Subject: Amendment in Import Policy covered under CTH 890690 of Chapter 89 of ITC (HS) 2022, Schedule —I (Import Policy).

S.O. 528(E): In exercise of powers conferred by Section 3 and Section 5 of Foreign Trade (Development & Regulation) Act, 1992, read with paragraph 1.02 and 2.01 of the Foreign Trade Policy 2023, as amended from time to time, the Central Government hereby amends the Import Policy of items covered under 890690 of Chapter 89 of ITC (HS), 2022, Schedule — I (Import Policy), as under:

Effect of the Notification:

Import Policy of ITC (HS) codes 89069010 and 89069090 is revised from “Restricted” to “Free” with immediate effect.

This is issued with the approval of Minister of Commerce & Industry.
