Directorate General of Foreign Trade (DGFT) Public Notice 01/2025-26 amends Appendix 4B of the Handbook of Procedures, 2023, updating the list of banks authorized by the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) to import gold and/or silver for the financial year 2025-26. The notice, effective from April 1, 2025, to March 31, 2026, details two lists: one for banks authorized to import both gold and silver, including Axis Bank, Bank of India, and State Bank of India, among others; and another for banks authorized to import gold only, comprising Indian Overseas Bank and Union Bank of India. This update, issued under the Foreign Trade Policy, 2023, provides clarity on authorized entities for precious metal imports.
