Directorate General of Foreign Trade (DGFT) has amended its guidelines on the import of rough marble blocks and slabs for 2007-08. In an update to Policy Circular No. 1, the floor price for crude or roughly trimmed marble and rough marble blocks has been reduced to $325 per metric tonne, while the floor price for marble slabs remains at $500 per metric tonne. These amended floor prices will be endorsed on all relevant import licenses.

Sub : Guidelines for import of Rough Marble Blocks/Slabs for the year 2007-08.

Paragraph 2. II of the Policy Circular No 1 (RE-07)/ 2004-09 dated 26.07.2007 shall be amended to read as under:

II. Floor Price-

It is further clarified that these licences shall be subject to the following floor price which shall be endorsed on all licences.

i) For crude or roughly trimmed marble – US$325 per Metric Tonne (MT);

ii) For rough marble blocks – US$325 per Metric Tonne (MT); and

iii) For Slabs – US$ 500 per Metric Tonne (MT)

2. This issues with the approval of Competent Authority.
