This Notification exempts the specified goods from the levy of surcharge

 Notification No. 25/2000-Customs 

G.S.R. (E).- In exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (1) of section 25 of the Customs Act, 1962 (52 of 1962), read with sub-section (4) of section 118 of the Finance Act, 1999 (27 of 1999), the Central Government, being satisfied that it is necessary in the public interest so to do, hereby exempts all gods specified in the First Schedule to the Customs Tariff Act, 1975), when imported into India, from the surcharge of customs leviable thereon under sub-section (1) of section 188 of the Finance Act, 1999.
