This notification amends Notification No.27/97-Customs (N.T.), dated the 7th July

16th March, 2000

Notification No. 21 /2000-Customs (N.T.)

In exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (1) of section (4) of the Customs Act, 1962 (52 of 1962), the Central Government hereby makes the following further amendment in the notification of the Government of India in the Ministry of Finance (Department of Revenue), No.27/97-Customs (N.T.), dated the 7th July, 1997, namely: –

In the table to the said notification, against the serial No. 17, for the entries in the column (2), the following shall be substituted with effect from the 1st April, 2000, namely:-

“the whole of the areas in the districts of the Uttar Kannada, Dakshina Kannada, Kodagu, Hassan, Chikmagalur, Shimoga, Belgaum, Bijapur, Udupi, Gadag, Dharwad, Koppal, Bellary, Raichur, Bagalkot, Gulbarga and Bidar, in the State of Kamataka including areas under Mangalore Port.”

The principal notification No.27/97-Customs (N.T.) dated 27th July, 1997 was published in the Gazette of India Extraordinary Part-II, Section 3, sub-section (i) vide G.S.R.363 (E), dated 7th July, 1997 which was amended vide notification No-40/97-Customs (N.T.) dated the 10th September, 1997 published in the Gazette of India Extraordinary Part-II, Section 3, Sub-section (i) vide G.S.R.529 (E) dated 10th September, 1997 and further amended vide notification No.6/98-Customs (N.T.) dated February, 1998 published in the Gazette of India Extraordinary Part-II. Section 3 of sub-section (i) vide G.S.R.65(E) dated 3rd February, 1998.
