S.O. (E). – In exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (1) of section 4 and sub-section (1) of section 5 of the Customs Act, 1962 (52 of 1962), the Central Board of Excise and Customs hereby appoints the Commissioner of Central Excise (Adjudication), Chennai to act as a common adjudicating authority to exercise the powers and discharge the duties conferred or imposed on

(i)  the Commissioner of Customs (Seaport-Import), Custom House, Chennai;

(ii)  the Commissioner of Customs, Air Cargo Complex, Chennai; and

(iii)   the Commissioner of Customs (Import), Custom House, Nhava Sheva,

for the purpose of adjudicating the matters relating to Show Cause Notices  pertaining to Shri Varadhan Swamy, Proprietor, M/s Cinetekk, Plot No. 9, 8th Cross, Anna Nagar, Pondicherry and Smt. Vijayalakshmi, Proprietorix, M/s. Cineland, Plot  No. 9, 8th Cross, Anna Nagar, Pondicherry issued vide, DRI F.No. VIII/48/27/2007, dated the 29th January, 2008, and DRI F.No. VIII/48/28/2007, dated the 30th January, 2008 by the Additional Director General, Directorate General of Revenue Intelligence, 25, Gopalkrishna (Iyer) Road, T. Nagar, Chennai – 600017.
