Indepex-Asian-2000-: exemption to goods required for display or sale

Notification No. 101/2000-Customs

G.S.R. (E)-In exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (1) of section 25 of the Customs Act, 1962 (52 of 1962), the Central Government being satisfied that it is necessary in the public interest so to do,  hereby exempts the goods described in the Schedule annexed hereto, when imported into India for display or sale in the “INDEPEX-ASIANA-2000” which is an international philatelic exhibition to be held at Calcutta from the 7th December, 2000 to the 12th December, 2000, organized by the Department of Posts in the Ministry of Communications, Government of India, from the whole of the duty of customs leviable thereon which is specified in the First Schedule to the Customs Tariff Act, 1975 (51 of 1975) and from the whole of the additional duty leviable thereon under section 3 of the said Customs Tariff Act, subject to the condition that an officer not below the rank of a Deputy Secretary to the Government of India in the Department of Posts in the Ministry of Communications certifies that the said goods are required for display or sale in the above said exhibition.

(ii) First Day covers or special covers
(iii) Brochures
(iv) Pamphlets (for philately promotion)
(v) Stock Book, Albums (for preserving stamps)
(vi) Profit System Stock Sheets suitable for stamps
(vii) Specimen signatures or Telephone Cards consisting of 5 sheets
(viii) Ring mechnic diament binders
(xii) Mount Cutters (small and large size)
(xiii) Stock Cards (14 cm. x 8 cm., 2 straps with cover foil back)
(xiv) Stock Cards (16 cm. x 11 cm., 3 straps)
(xii) Common mounts for mounting cover
(xx) Stamp Tweezers in different designs
(xxi) Magnifying glasses or folding pocket magnifiers or telescopic magnifiers or microscopic battery operated magnifiers
(xxii) Mounts
(xxiii) Protector covers (transparent covers)
(xxiv) Books on philately
(xxv) Book Marks
(xxvi) Arrows (in shall paper slips for indication)
