The Central Government vide Notification No.03/2015-Customs (Tariff) dated January 7, 2015 has amended the Notification No. 12/2012-Customs (Tariff) dated March 17, 2012 which provided for NIL rate of Customs duty on import of Bunker fuels for use in ships or vessels.
The Central Government has now deleted the proviso of clause (bd) therein, which specified that the exemption from Customs duty leviable thereon under the Customs Tariff Act, 1975 on import of Bunker fuels for use in ships or vessels till May 11, 2015.

G.S. R. (E).—In exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (1) of section 25 of the Customs Act, 1962 (52 of 1962), the Central Government being satisfied that it is necessary in the public interest so to do, hereby makes the following further amendment in the notification of the Government of India in the Ministry of Finance (Department of Revenue) No. 12/2012-Customs, dated the 17th March,2012, published in the Gazette of India, Extraordinary, Part II, Section 3, Sub-section (i),vide number G.S.R.185 (E), dated the 17th March,2012, namely:-
In the said notification, after the Table, in the proviso, clause (bd) and the entries relating thereto, shall be omitted.
