One person possessing 14 kgs smuggled gold valued at Rs. 4.1 Crore has been intercepted and arrested on 02/03 April by DRI at Nager Bazaar near Dumdum Railway Station in Kolkata. Total 120 pieces of 116 grams each were seized. Out of these 120 pieces 62 had Swiss markings and 58 UAE. Investigations indicate that Gold was smuggled into India from Bangladesh. Gold was brought into Bangladesh from Dubai. Gold was handed over at Basirhat near India-Bangladesh border. Earlier in January this year DRI had seized 41 kgs gold smuggled into India from Bangladesh.
