CBIC amends notification No. 50/2017-Customs to align HS Codes w.e.f. 01.05.2023

Seeks to amend notification No. 50/2017-Customs in order to align the HS Codes of the said notifications with the Finance Act, 2023, w.e.f. 01.05.2023 vide Notification No. 35/2023-Customs, Dated: 29.04.2023

Notification No. 35/2023-Customs | Dated: 29th April, 2023

G.S.R. 332(E).—In exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (1) of section 25 of the Customs Act, 1962 (52 of 1962), the Central Government, on being satisfied that it is necessary in the public interest so to do, hereby makes the following further amendments in the notification of the Government of India in the Ministry of Finance (Department of Revenue), No. 50/2017-Customs, dated the 30th June, 2017, published in the Gazette of India, Extraordinary, Part II, Section 3, Sub-section (i), vide number G.S.R. 785(E), dated the 30th June, 2017, namely :-

In the said notification, in the Table, –

(i) against S. No. 226, in column (2), for the entry, the entry “3102 10” shall be substituted;

(ii) against S. No. 451A and the entries relating thereto, the following S. No. and entries shall be substituted, namely:-

(i) against S. No. 515A, in column (2), for the entry, the entry “8524” shall be substituted;

2. This notification shall come into force from the 1^st of May, 2023.

Note: – The principal notification No. 50/2017-Customs, dated the 30^th day of June, 2017 was published in the Gazette of India, Extraordinary, Part II, Section 3, Sub-section (i), vide number G.S.R. 785(E), dated the 30thday of June, 2017 and last amended vide notification No. 17/2023-Customs, dated the 29^th day of March, 2023 published in the Gazette of India, Extraordinary, Part II, Section 3, Sub-section (i), vide number G.S.R. 235(E), dated the 29^th day of March, 2023.

CORRIGENDUM
New Delhi, the 16th May, 2023

G.S.R. 368(E).—In the notification of the Government of India, in the Ministry of Finance (Department of Revenue) No. 35/2023-Customs published vide G.S.R. 332(E), dated the 29th April, 2023, in the Gazette of India, Extraordinary, Part II, Section 3, Sub-section (i) dated the 1st May, 2023, at page number 5, in line 9, for ‘(i) against S. No. 515A, in column (2), for the entry, the entry “8524 11 30 or 8524 12 30”’, read ‘(iii) against S. No. 515A, in column (2), for the entry, the entry “8524”’.
