Notification No. 24/2009-CUSTOMS (N.T.)

 New Delhi, the 3rd March, 2009

G.S.R. 147 (E). – In exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (2) of section 76 of the Customs Act, 1962 (52 of 1962), the Central Government, hereby makes the following amendments in the notification of the Government of India in the Ministry of Finance (Department of Revenue), No.208/1977-Customs (N.T.), dated the 1st October, 1977, namely:-

In the said notification,-

(a) in the explanation,-

(i) the words “Austrian Schillings”, ”Belgian Francs”, ”Danish Kroners”, “Deutsche   Marks”, ”French  Francs”, ”Italian Lira”, ”Netherlands Guilders”, ”Norwegian Kroners”, ”Swedish Kroners”, and ”Swiss Francs” shall be omitted;

(ii)   after the words ”Canadian Dollars” the word “Euro” shall be inserted;

(b)  the word ”Burma” wherever it appears in the notification, shall be replaced by the word “Myanmar”;

(c) the word “Burmese”, wherever it appears in the notification, shall be replaced by the word “Myanmarese”.

Note :- The principal notification was published in the Gazette of India vide notification No. 208/77-Customs, dated the 1st October, 1977 and was last amended vide notification No. 39/2003-Customs (N.T.) dated the 19th June, 2003 published vide number  S.O. 714 (E) dated the 19th June, 2003.
