Ministry of Finance has issued Notification No. 18/2025-Customs to amend Notification No. 9/2012-Customs, revising variance limits for imported diamonds. Effective from March 20, 2025, the permissible variance for round diamonds is now ±0.05 mm in diameter, while other shaped diamonds can have a variance of ±0.07 mm in length and breadth, ±0.01 mm in height, and ±1 cent in weight. These changes aim to provide flexibility in diamond import regulations while maintaining quality standards.
