Notifications No. 3/2004-Customs (N.T)

            In exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (1) of section 4 of the Customs Act, 1962 (52 of 1962), the Central Board of Excise and Customs hereby makes the following further amendments in the notification of the Government of India in the Ministry of Finance, Department of Revenue No. 14/2002-Customs (N.T.), dated the 7th March, 2002, namely :-

In the said notification,-

(a)              for Sl . No. 2 and the entries relating thereto, the following shall be substituted, namely:-

Chief Commissioner of Central Excise, Chandigarh

Commissioners  of  Central Excise, Jalandhar , Ludhiana , Jammu and Kashmir (other than preventive work of  Customs). Commissioner of  Customs (Preventive), Amritsar (other than preventive work).”

(b)     for Sl . No. 31 and the entries relating thereto, the following shall be substituted, namely:-

Chief Commissioner of  Customs (Preventive), Delhi

Commissioners of  Customs, (Preventive )Delhi, (Preventive) Amritsar (only preventive work), (Preventive ) Jodhpur  and Commissioner of  Central Excise ( only preventive work of  Customs).”,

Note.- The principal notification number 14/2002-Customs (N.T.), dated the 7th March, 2002 was published in the Gazette of India, Extraordinary, Part II, Section 3, Sub-Section ( i ), dated the 7th March, 2002 vide G.S.R. number 170 (E) and last amended vide notification No. 77/2002-Customs (N.T.), dated the 5th December, 2002, published in the Gazette of India Extraordinary, Part II, Section 3, Sub-Section ( i ), dated the 5th December, 2002 vide G.S.R. number 802 (E).

Corrigendum

In the notification of the Government of  India in the Ministry of Finance ( Department of  Revenue), No.3/2004-Customs (N.T), dated the 5th January, 2004, published in the Gazette of  India, Extraordinary, Part-II, Section 3, Sub-section (i),vide G.S.R 7(E), dated  the 5th January, 2004 ,-

(i)      in column (3) of Sl.No.2 , before the  word ” Jalandhar, the word  ” Chandigarh,”  shall be inserted.;

(ii)      in column (3) of  Sl. No. 31, after the words ” Central Excise ” ,the  words ” Jammu and  Kashmir ” shall be inserted.
