The Ministry of Finance, Department of Revenue, has issued a notification appointing 53 advocates as Special Public Prosecutors to conduct cases for the Directorate of Enforcement under the Prevention of Money-laundering Act, 2002. These appointments are made in exercise of powers granted by the Act. The prosecutors will handle cases before the Special Courts within specific states and union territories, including Assam, Goa, Haryana, Karnataka, Maharashtra, Manipur, Meghalaya, NCT of Delhi, Orissa, Tamil Nadu, Union Territory of Chandigarh, Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir, Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, and West Bengal. The tenure for most of these appointments is valid until August 18, 2027, with a few having earlier end dates. This measure is intended to support the legal proceedings of the Directorate of Enforcement in its efforts to combat money laundering.

S.O. 4059(E).In exercise of the powers conferred by the proviso to sub-section (1) of section 46 of the Prevention of Money-laundering Act, 2002 (15 of 2003), the Central Government hereby appoints the Advocates specified in column (2) of the table below as Special Public Prosecutors for conducting the prosecution of cases on behalf of the Directorate of Enforcement before the Special Courts under the Prevention of Money-laundering Act, 2002 for the tenure commencing from the date of their appointment and ending on the date mentioned against each in column (4) of the said table and within the jurisdiction of zones or sub zones mentioned against their names in column (3) of the said table, namely:-

The Ministry of Finance, Department of Revenue, has issued a notification under the Prevention of Money-laundering Act, 2002. The Central Government, using its authority from both this Act and the Bhartiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita, 2023, has officially appointed a new Special Public Prosecutor. This appointment, effective across all of India, assigns Shri Ankush Kumar Prajapati, an Assistant Legal Advisor, to the role. His primary responsibility will be to represent the Directorate of Enforcement in cases brought before the Special Courts under the Prevention of Money-laundering Act, 2002.

S.O. 4060(E).— In exercise of the powers conferred by the proviso to sub-section (1) of section 46 of the Prevention of Money-laundering Act, 2002 (15 of 2003) read with clause (v) of sub-section (1) of section 2 and sub-section (8) of section 18 of the Bhartiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita, 2023 (46 of 2023), the Central Government hereby appoints the following Assistant Legal Advisor as Special Public Prosecutor for conducting the cases on behalf of the Directorate of Enforcement before the Special Courts under the Prevention of Money-laundering Act, 2002, throughout India, namely:-

1. Shri Ankush Kumar Prajapati, Assistant Legal Advisor.
