ORDER
New Delhi, the, 24th March, 2023
S.O. 1431(E).—In exercise of the powers conferred by sub-sections (1) and (2) of section 16 read with sub-section (3) of section 25 of the Bureau of Indian Standards Act, 2016 (11 of 2016), the Central Government, after consulting the Bureau of Indian Standards, is of the opinion that it is necessary so to do in the public interest, hereby makes the following Order further to amend the Safety Glass (Quality Control) Order, 2020, namely: –
1. (1) This Order may be called the Safety Glass (Quality Control) Amendment Order, 2023.
(2) It shall come into force on the date of its publication in the Official Gazette.
2. In the Safety Glass (Quality Control) Order, 2020, in Paragraph 2, after the second proviso, the following proviso shall be inserted, namely: –
“Provided also that nothing in this Order shall apply to import of safety glass by a vehicle manufacturer for manufacturing up to ten thousand vehicles manufactured in India per financial year:
Provided also that nothing in this Order shall apply to import of up to 5,000 number of safety glass per financial year for the purpose of repairs or after sales service of vehicles.”.
