On 15th September 2025, the Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) issued a notification updating its earlier 2017 notification regarding Food Safety Officers (FSOs) under Indian Railways. The update removes Serial No. 69 from the previous list and adds a new FSO, Sh. Abdul Mohamed Rabeek, who has been posted to Southern Railways. This appointment is effective from the date of publication. The notification clarifies the authorized FSOs for monitoring and enforcing food safety standards on Indian Railways and ensures compliance under the Food Safety and Standards Act, 2006.

F.No. RCD-10001/4/2021-Regulatory-FSSAI-(part-1).––In exercise of the powers conferred under Sub-Section 5 of Section 10 read with Section 37 of the Food Safety and Standards Act, 2006 (34 of 2006), the Food Safety and Standards Authority of India hereby notifies the following officers as Food Safety Officer for the area as mentioned against their names under Indian Railways with effect from the date of publication of this notification by amending the principal notification dated the 18th April, 2017, published in the Gazette of India, Extraordinary, Part III, Section 4 on 20th April, 2017:-
In the table,-
1. Serial no. 69 shall be omitted;
2. after the existing entries, the following shall be inserted in the respective columns, namely:-
