On 23rd May 2025, the Ministry of Finance (Department of Revenue) issued a notification amending a previous order under the Prevention of Money-laundering Act, 2002. In consultation with the Chief Justice of the High Court of Chhattisgarh, the Central Government has revised the designation of the Special Court handling PMLA cases for the State of Chhattisgarh. The amendment affects the notification originally issued on 5th February 2016 (S.O. 372(E)), and last amended on 27th March 2017 (S.O. 966(E)). As per the latest update, the designated court for trying offences under the Act for the entire State of Chhattisgarh is now the Court of VI Additional Sessions Judge, Raipur. This change ensures clarity in judicial jurisdiction and aligns with the provisions under Section 43(1) of the PMLA, 2002.
