MCA notifies Appellate Authority Appointments for CA, CMA & CS Acts

The Ministry of Corporate Affairs (MCA) released a notification on July 8, 2025, announcing further amendments to a previous notification from November 3, 2015. These amendments, exercised under Section 22A of the Chartered Accountants Act, 1949, Cost Accountants Act, 1959, and Company Secretaries Act, 1980, involve changes to specific member appointments. The notification substitutes existing entries for serial numbers (4), (5), (7), (8), and (9). CA. K Raghu and CA. Pankaj Tyagee have been appointed as members under the Chartered Accountants Act, 1949. CMA. H Padmanabhan has been appointed as a member under the Cost Accountants Act, 1959. Additionally, CS Ashish Garg and CS Rajiv Bajaj have been appointed as members under the Company Secretaries Act, 1980. This notification follows a series of prior amendments to the principal notification, with the last amendment occurring on June 30, 2025.

G.S.R. 456(E).— In exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (1) of section 22A of the Chartered Accountants Act, 1949 (38 of 1949), section 22A of the Cost Accountants Act, 1959 (23 of 1959) and section 22A of the Company Secretaries Act, 1980 (56 of 1980), the Central Government hereby makes the following further amendments in the notification of the Government of India, Ministry of Corporate Affairs, published in the Gazette of India, Extraordinary, Part II, Section 3, Sub-section (i), vide number G.S.R. 835(E), dated the 3^rd November, 2015, namely:-

1. In the said notification, –

(a) for serial numbers (4) and (5) and the entries relating thereto, the following shall be substituted, namely: –
