ICAI started Master in Business Finance Certificate Course : President

While acknowledging and appreciating the initiatives and the efforts undertaken by the Committee on Management Accounting (CMA) especially its Chairman, CA Vinod Jain, FCA.  I am happy to inform you that the Committee on Management Accounting has launched Master in Business Finance as a Certificate Course for the members of the Institute. The word Master indicates expert level of knowledge and do not refer to a post graduate degree.

The purpose of the course is to empower the members with the advance level technical skills as well as analytical and decision- making discretion in the Management of Finances.  Crafting a world class Finance professional out of a Chartered Accountant with global outlook and ability to command, control and create best practices to the best advantage of stakeholders, the society and the nation is the ultimate goal.

The course has presently been launched at New Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata and Chennai.  In due course of time, the programme will also be extended to other cities also.

The ICAI has formulated a very wide and comprehensive course curriculum which includes topics of contemporary relevance in the Financial Management and Management Accounting arena.  The participants will be required to do self study, attend the classes and tutorials for 150  200 hours, Develop Project Reports and Case Studies as well as Group discussions to share their knowledge and experiences. The duration of course is one Year. This will have wide recognition in Financial Management, Banking, Industry, Investment Banking and Treasury Management.

It is proposed to provide background material. The participants of this course will have to go through evaluation process consisting of six papers to be held in November and May.
