The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) has announced the establishment of two new branches of its Southern India Regional Council in Telangana, effective May 27, 2025. A new branch will be set up in Khammam city, with its jurisdiction extending to include towns such as Madira, Wyra, and Satthpalli, located within 50 kms of Khammam’s city limits. Simultaneously, another branch will be established in Nizamabad city, encompassing Armoor and Bodhan within its 50 km jurisdictional radius. These new branches will operate under the control and supervision of the ICAI Council, channeled through the Southern India Regional Council. In a separate modification, the ICAI also notified the detachment of Hosapete (Karnataka) from the jurisdiction of the Ballari Branch of the Southern India Regional Council, also effective May 27, 2025. This decision partially modifies a 2006 notification that originally established the Ballari Branch.
