 1. What is CSEET?

CSEET is the entrance exam for the CS Executive Programme, managed by the Institute of Company Secretaries of India (ICSI). The cand21Tidate must clear it for enrolling in CS Executive.

2. Who is eligible to take CSEET?

The students those who have passed or appeared in the 10+2 exam (excluding fine arts) are eligible for this exam. Graduates or post-graduates candidates also must clear CSEET unless they qualify for exemption.

3. What subjects are tested?

CSEET has four papers:

1. Business Communication

2. Legal Aptitude & Logical Reasoning

3. Economic & Business Environment

4. Current Affairs + Presentation & Communication Skills

4. What is the format and timing?

The exam format is Computer-based test (CBT), having 120 questions. The time period for the exam is 120 minutes with total mark weighing 200. The question Includes both MCQs and (in some modes) a viva–voce segment replaced by MCQs in remote mode.

5. How is the exam graded?

The candidate needs at least 40% in each paper and 50% overall to pass. There is no negative marking.

6. Who is exempted for CSEET?

Exemptions are granted to:

  • CS Foundation passers
  • CA (ICAI) or CMA (ICMAI) Final passers
  • Graduates with ≥50%
  • Postgraduates

Note: CA/CMA finalists pay an exemption fee (₹5,000)

7. How can candidates prepare?

The ICSI distributes digital study materials, journals, and newsletters. It is also recommended to use additional textbooks, video courses, mock tests, and past papers and external coaching classes.

 8. Can one take CSEET before Class 12 results are out?

Yes, the candidates who are waiting for their 10+2 result can also appear in the exam.

9. What is the exam fee and registration validity

The fee per attempt is ₹1,000. Registration lasts for one attempt only. The candidates can appear up to four times a year with re-registration with payment of 1000 each time

10. What is the CSEET schedule?

The CSEET exam is held four times annually (typically Jan, May, July, Nov).
The following is the registration windows and result timelines:

May 16th December -15th April 2nd/3rd week of the Month By late April 31st May (for appearing in both modules of Executive Program in December session in same year)
July 16th April-15th June 2nd/3rd week of the Month By late June 31st July (for appearing in both modules of Executive Program in December session in same year)
November 16th June -15th October 2nd/3rd week of the Month By late October 31st November (for appearing in both modules of Executive Program in December session in same year)
January 16th October -15th December 2nd/3rd week of the Month By late December 31st January (for appearing in both modules of Executive Program in December session in same year)

11. Are fee concessions available?

Yes, different categories receive following concessions:

  • 50% concession for  SC/ST, physical disability, certain students from North East, defence personnel (50–75%)
  • 100% concession for war widows, UT of J&K/Ladakh, and ICLS Officers / Officers & Staff of MCA and affiliated offices (NCLT, SFIO and CCI).

 12. Where to register?

A student can register for CSEET at the link provided here:

https://smash.icsi.edu/Scripts/CSEET/Instructions_CSEET.aspx. Applicants must provide personal information, documents (photo, signature, ID, certificates), and pay the fee.

Mandatory Documents requirement

1.Photograph of the candidate (size 20kb to 50kb)

2. Signature of the candidate (size 10kb to 20kb)

3. DOB Certificate (10th pass certificate)

4. Admit Card/ Hall Ticket for 10+2 Examinations (if appearing) or 10+2 Pass Certificate/ Mark Sheet

5. Category Certificate (for availing Fee Concession)

6. Identity proof (Aadhar card/passport/voter ID /pan card/driving license/ration card)

On successful registration an intimated is sent through email/SMS on the registered email id/mobile number. Candidates can appear for the CSEET as per the schedule sent through email/SMS.
