The Ministry of Corporate Affairs issued Notification S.O. 4513(E) on 15th October 2024, making amendments to a previous notification under the Chartered Accountants Act, 1949. Exercising the powers under section 10B of the Act, the Central Government made changes concerning the appointment of the presiding officer of the Chartered Accountants Election Tribunal. The amendment replaces the existing entry for serial number 1, appointing Dr. Anju Rathi Rana, Additional Secretary of the Department of Legal Affairs, as the new presiding officer of the Tribunal. This change updates the earlier notification dated 12th April 2019. The amendment comes into force from the date of its publication in the Official Gazette.

S.O. 4513(E).—In exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (1) of section 10B of the Chartered Accountants Act, 1949 (38 of 1949) and in pursuance of rule 3 of the Chartered Accountants (Election Tribunal) Rules, 2006, the Central Government hereby makes the following further amendments in the notification of the Government of India, Ministry of Corporate Affairs, vide number S.O. 1591(E), dated the 12th April, 2019 published in the Gazette of India, Extraordinary, Part II, Section 3, Sub-section (ii), namely:-
In the said notification, for serial number 1 and the entries relating thereto, the following serial number and entries shall be substituted, namely: –
“1. Dr. Anju Rathi Rana, – Presiding officer;”.
