Import of 5 Lakh MT of raw sugar under Exim Code 170114 of Chapter 17 of ITC (HS), 2017–Schedule–I (Import Policy) is allowed duty free under TRQ.
It has been observed that Direct Port Delivery (DPD) facility has reduced the time and cost for importers considerably. Therefore, it has been decided to consider Direct Port Delivery (DPD) permission to all such importers who are manufacturers, registered IPR holders provided their bulk of import is in FCL (Full container Load) and is being facilitated by RMS i.e. no examination, no assessment.
There has been request from various stakeholders for issue of compilation of such Public Notices issued in relation to Direct Port Entry (DPE) Procedure. Accordingly, brief about each Public Notice is given below in tabular form:

The procedure for receipt and digitization of the above claims and manual brand rate of drawback claims will be as follows: (a) A service centre for receipt and digitization of the above mentioned claims will be functional in the EDI building in JNCH and all the above mentioned claims will be submitted to the receiving clerk posted there.
It has been represented by Trade / DPD Importer that cases where DPD importer has not indicated any preferred CFS Code [i.e. Containers are stacked in DPD Stacking as per choice indicated by DPD Client], Port Terminal Operator are not allowing goods to move to CFS untill 48 hours are over

After issuance of the Public Notice No. 63 dated 27.03.2017, a number of representations have been received seeking clarification on this Public Notice. Accordingly, the followings are clarified:
Para 2.54(d)(iv) of the Handbook of Procedures, 2015-2020 has been amended to reflect the list of designated ports for imports of un-shredded metallic scrap and the period for installation and operationalisation of Radiation Portal Monitors and Container Scanner in these ports is extended uptil 31.3.2018.
