Circular No. 26/2015- Customs CBEC has decided that all importers, exporters using services of Customs Brokers for formalities under Customs Act, 1962, shipping lines and air lines shall file customs documents under digital signature certificates mandatorily with effect from 01.01.2016. The importers/ exporters desirous of filing Bill of Entry or Shipping Bill individually may however have the option of filing declarations/ documents without using digital signature. Further, wherever the customs process documents are digitally signed, the Customs will not insist on the user to physically sign the said documents.

Circular No. 25/2015-Custom Duty The Board has received representations from other Ministries, trade bodies and traders regarding issues arising from the interpretation of Board’s circular no. 4/2008 – Cus dated 12th February 2008, The circular requires that field formations rely upon a chartered engineer’s inspection report while valuing imports of second hand machinery and that inspection/appraisement reports issued at the port of loading should be accepted.
Notification No. 101/2015 – Customs (N.T.) In exercise of the powers conferred by section 14 of the Customs Act, 1962 (52 of 1962), and in super session of the notification of the Central Board of Excise & Customs No. 97/2015-CUSTOMS (N.T.), dated 1st October, 2015, except as respects things done or omitted to be done before such supersession, the Central Board of Excise & Customs hereby determines that the rate of exchange of conversion of each of the foreign currencies specified
