The Ministry of Corporate Affairs (MCA) has confirmed that the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) expenditure data from fiscal year 2019-20 to 2023-24 is available on its official CSR portal, csr.gov.in. The data, which is based on annual filings by companies through the MCA21 registry, is systematic, updated, and searchable by state, district, year, development sector, and company. The government does not plan to share this information on the Open Government Data (OGD) Platform, as all relevant data is already accessible to the public through its dedicated CSR portal. Annexures I and II provide a detailed breakdown of CSR expenditure across Indian states and union territories, and by development sector, respectively. The data shows a general increase in total CSR spending over the five-year period, from Rs.24,965.82 crore in FY 2019-20 to Rs.34,908.75 crore in FY 2023-24. Top spending sectors include Education, Healthcare, and Livelihood Enhancement Projects, while states like Maharashtra, Gujarat, and Karnataka consistently receive a significant portion of the funds.
