The Directorate General of Foreign Trade (DGFT) has updated the import policy for Raw Pet Coke (RPC) and Calcined Pet Coke (CPC) through Notification No. 27/2024-25-DGFT, dated September 4, 2024. The amendment revises Import Policy Condition No. 06(b)(ii) under Chapter 27 of the ITC (HS) 2022 to allow the import of RPC and CPC for use by both the aluminium industry and other industries, rather than being restricted solely to the aluminium sector. This change, effective immediately, aims to address broader domestic industrial needs and streamline import regulations. The notification is issued under the Foreign Trade (Development & Regulation) Act, 1992, with the approval of the Minister of Commerce & Industry.
