Circular No. 99/10/95-Central Excise

dated 20/2/95
 F.No. 219/2/95-CX.6
Government of India
Ministry of Finance
Department of Revenue, New Delhi

Subject : Awards disbursement  within three months of sanction

Subject: Reward – Sanction & Disbursement – Delay – Regarding.

I am directed to say that while replying to a Parliament Question on sanction and disbursement of rewards, it has come to the notice of the Boards that there is considerable time lag between the date of sanction of the reward and the date of disbursement of reward. It has been noticed that in some cases, it took about 4 years from the date of sanction to distribute the reward. Such undue delay has the result rendering the very scheme of reward ineffective and may adversely effect the Department”s performance.

2. I have, therefore, been directed to request all competent authorities to ensure that rewards are expeditiously disbursed. Efforts should be made to ensure disbursement within 3 months from the date of sanction and delay if any should be looked into by the Collector.
