NOTIFICATION NO 120/2006, dated 16-5-2006
S.O. 723(E).—In exercise of the powers conferred by clause (6C) of section 10 of the Income-tax Act, 1961 (43 of 1961), the Central Government hereby declares that any income arising to the foreign companies specified in column (2) of the table given below, by way of royalty or fees for technical services received in pursuance of the agreements specified in column (3) of the table, entered into by them with the Government of India for providing the services specified in column (4) of the table, in or outside India relating to the projects connected with security of India, shall not be included in computing the total income of the said company under the Income – tax Act, 1961, provided that the income by way of royalty would be exempt from taxation if such income has arisen on or after the 1st April, 2003.
