In exercise of the powers conferred by clause (iia) of sub-section (1) of section 80L and clause (vi) of sub-section (3) of section 194A of the Income-tax Act, 1961 (43 of 1961), and clause (xxva) of sub-section (1) of section 5 of the Wealth-tax Act, 1957 (27 of 1957), the Central Government hereby notifies that the National Deposit Scheme, 1984, notified by the Government of India, vide the Ministry of Finance, Department of Economic Affairs, Notification No. F. 4(3)-W & M/84, dated 15th June, 1984, shall be the National Deposit Scheme for the purposes of the aforesaid provisions of the Income-tax Act, 1961, and the Wealth-tax Act, 1957.
2. This notification shall come into force on the 1st of April, 1985.
