The Real Estate (Regulation & Development) Act, 2016 has come into force on 1st May, 2016 and as per the provisions of the Act, the state government has to form the rules and incorporate the regulatory authority within 1 year from the enforcement of the same so as to regulate the real estate sector in the state.

Following the above provisions on 1st May, 2017 the Rajasthan State Government has issued the rules and formed the temporary body but such body was challenged in the Rajasthan High Court and an order was passed by the Court on 17th December, 2018 to form a permanent body consisting of a Chairman, 2 Authority Members and 2 Tribunal Members.

The Order issued by Rajasthan High Court stated that the Authority would be constituted as per Real Estate (Regulation & Development) Act, 2016 within 2 months from the date of receipt of the copy of order.

The Order further stated that Real Estate Regulatory Appellate Tribunal would be constituted within 3 months from the date of receipt of the copy of order.

And finally on 6th March, 2019 the Rajasthan State Government has constituted the permanent body of RERA having Shri N.C. Goyal as the Chairman, Shri Abhay Chaturvedi and Shri Rakesh Jain as Authority Members and Judicial Member Shri Brijesh Kumar Dangra and Technical Member Shri Bansidhar Jat as the Tribunal Members.
