TRADE NOTICE NO. 14/(2015-2020)

Subject: Consideration of applications for grant of authorization for import of gold-dore – reg.

Reference is invited to Trade Notice No. 04 dated 21.04.2017 on the above subject laying down the condition that w.e.f 01.06.2017 only those applications for grant of gold-dore shall be considered where applicant refinery holds a valid license from BIS. In light of representations seeking extension of the time limit as stipulated in the aforementioned Trade notice, the matter has been reconsidered.

2.   It is brought to notice of the trade that the time period for obtaining BIS registration is hereby extended by one year and accordingly, refineries holding authorizations from DGFT for importing gold-dore may obtain BIS registration/license latest by 31.5.2018. With effect from 01.06.2018, only those applications will be considered for grant of authorization for import of gold-dore where applicant refinery holds a valid license from BIS.

3.   Applicant refineries seeking authorization for the first time, may submit valid document of their accreditation with NABL to DGFT for consideration of grant of authorization for importing gold-dore. Such applicants may obtain BIS license within a period of one year, from the date of authorization granted by DGFT.
