Public Notice No. 44 (RE-99), dated 15th December 1999, amends various product descriptions in the Handbook of Procedures (Vol.1) (RE-99), 1997-2002 under the Export and Import Policy. Notably, the descriptions for several plastic materials such as ABS, HDPE, LDPE, Nylon 6, and Polypropylene are corrected to specify that they are not covered under Standard Input Output Norms. Additionally, corrections are made to DEPB (Duty Exemption Passbook) entries, including the description of chemicals like “Auramine O 200% (WS)” and engineering products such as “High tensile precision fasteners” and “Light Commercial vehicles of GVW up to 7.5 MT in CBU/SKD/CKD condition.” Furthermore, the notice includes a corrigendum updating the serial numbers of certain products from previous public notices. These changes aim to clarify the classifications and ensure proper documentation under the Export and Import Policy.
