Section 620 of the Companies Act, 1956 – Power to Modify Act in relation to Government Companies – Amendment in Notification No. SRO 355, DATED 17-1-1957

S.O. 2345(E). – In exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (1) of section 620 of the Companies Act, 1956 (1 of 1956), the Central Government hereby makes the following further amendments in the notification of the Government of India in the erstwhile Department of Company Law Administration vide number S.R.O. 355, dated 17th January, 1957, a copy of this notification having been laid in draft before both houses of Parliament as required by sub-section (2) of that section, namely:-

In the said notification, in paragraph (2), in sub-paragraph (ii), for the words “such other place as the Central Government may approve in this behalf”, the words “some other place within the city, town or village in which the registered office of the company is situate or such other place as the Central Government may approve in this behalf” shall be substituted.

Note: The principal notification was published in the Gazette of India number S.R.O. 355, dated the 17′ January, 1957 and last amended vide notification number S.O. 591 (E), dated the 17′ March, 2011.
