The Council of the Institute of Company Secretaries of India (ICSI), in its meetings held on 22-23 May 2026 and 10 June 2026, approved several significant decisions relating to student training, professional standards, governance, and institutional administration. The Council expanded the scope of Alternative Mode CLDP to include certain Professional Programme-qualified students who had completed or obtained exemption from long-term practical training under earlier training structures without undergoing EDP under the new framework, as well as students residing abroad who completed 21 months of practical training in foreign companies registered with ICSI. It also approved relay EDP in 15-day classroom mode for overseas students on a case-by-case basis. Other decisions included recognition of top-performing students, adoption of revised guidance on related party transactions, approval of Social Impact Assessment Standards for submission to SEBI, fixation of annual fees for Social Impact Assessment Entities, multilingual modifications to the ICSI logo, and adoption of electronic voting for ICSI Elections 2026.

Important Decisions taken in the Meetings of the Council
dated 22-23 May, 2026 and 10 June, 2026
1. The Council accorded approval for expanding the purview of Alternative Mode CLDP under the following criteria:
(i) Students who have passed Professional Programme 05 years prior to the date of application and have completed Long-Term Practical Training under the Earlier/ Modified training structure, without undergoing EDP under the new Training Structure
(ii) Students who have passed Professional Programme 05 years prior to the date of application and have been granted exemption from Long-Term Practical Training under the Earlier/ Modified training structure, without undergoing EDP under the new Training Structure.
(iii) CS students residing in foreign countries who have undergone 21 months Long-Term Practical Training in a foreign company registered with the Institute.
2. The Council accorded approval for allowing relay EDP 15 days Classroom Mode to students, residing in foreign countries, on a case-to-case basis after obtaining approval of the Secretary, IC SI.
3. The Council accorded approval for placing the Regional/ Local Language name of the respective Regional / Chapter Offices of ICSI and Hindi name before the English name of the ICSI in the design of the ICSI Logo-Masthead, to be implemented across signboards, letterheads, stationery etc.
4. The Council accorded approval for felicitation of top 5 students per session for CSEET, Executive Programme and Professional Programme, according to the merit at the respective location, by Regional Offices / Chapters.
5. The Council approved the revised Guidance Note on Related Party Transactions, as recommended by the Secretarial Standards Board.
6. The Council approved the ICSI Social Impact Assessment Standards, as recommended by the Board of Directors of ICSI Institute of Social Auditors, for onward submission to the SEBI.
7. The Council accorded approval for fixing the Continuing Annual Membership Fees of Rs. 2,500/- (Rupees Two Thousand Five Hundred Only) per annum plus applicable GST for Social Impact Assessment Entities, registered with ICSI Institute of Social Auditors.
8. The Council decided that the mode of ICSI Elections-2026 shall be ‘Electronic’ comprising of booth-based venue voting (anywhere voting in the Region) and remote e-voting (instead of postal ballot).
