The principal notification was published in the Gazette of India, Extraordinary, vide number G.S.R. 92(E), dated the 1st March, 2006 and was last amended by notification No.24/2006-Customs, dated the 6th March, 2006 which was published in the Gazette of India, Extraordinary, vide number G.S.R.140(E), dated the 6th March, 2006.
In exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (1) of section 25 of the Customs Act, 1962 (52 of 1962) read with sub-section (8) of section 3 of the Customs Tariff Act, 1975 (51 of 1975) (hereinafter referred to as the said Act), the Central Government, on being satisfied that it is necessary in the public interest so to do, hereby exempts the goods, description of which is specified in column (3) of the Table below and falling within the Heading.
In exercise of the powers conferred by clause (a) of sub-section (1) of section 7 of the Customs Act, 1962 (52 of 1962), the Central Board of Excise and Customs hereby makes the following further amendments in the notification of the Government of India in the Ministry of Finance (Department of Revenue) No. 62/94 (NT) – Customs, dated the 21st November, 1994.
