The four Standards namely CSAS-1: Auditing Standard on Audit Engagement; CSAS-2: Auditing Standard on Audit Process and Documentation; CSAS-3: Auditing Standard on Forming of Opinion and CSAS-4: Auditing Standard on Secretarial Audit are applicable on recommendatory basis on Audit engagements accepted by the Auditor on or after 1st July, 2019; and mandatory for Audit engagements accepted by the Auditor on or after 1st April, 2020:

The association has cited difficulties in filing number of mandatory returns under the Companies Act, -2013 and proposed following suggestions:-i. Doing away with the requirement of verification by a Chartered Accountant or Company Secretary in filing of returns under Companies Act, 2013 and introducing the practice of self-certification/self-verification.

The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) granted its approval to HDFC Bank last week to acquire a share of maximum 9.9% of the Bandhan Bank paid-up capital, with effect from the date of the proposed amalgamation between the two entities. This was in reply to the earlier application made by HDFC to RBI (post the announcement of the proposed deal) to hold shares in the Bandhan Bank.
