UK-based SIS Live, which provided production facilities to official broadcaster Doordarshan during the Commonwealth Games, today rejected allegations of providing fake service tax numbers to agencies. In a statement released here, company COO Mark Kingston said that SIS Live has in fact paid all service tax due in accordance with regulations, the last payment being made in October and the next payment due in January 2011.
“A provisional service tax number was initially issued to SIS LIVE by Indian Revenue, which was subsequently replaced by a permanent number,” he said.
The company further said that it is a partnership formed under English law between Satellite Information Services Limited (SIS) and its subsidiary SIS Outside Broadcasts Limited (SISOB).
