Union Finance Minister Arun Jaitley Clarified on his Twitter handle that ” News appearing in certain section of media that Tax Department has estimated that Indian banks could take a hit of more than $3 billion due to alleged fraud at PNB, is false & factually incorrect. @IncomeTaxIndia has NOT made any such prediction.”

A written report in media is circulating in which it is claimed that PNB GHOTALA may exceed 20,000 crore rupees i.e. $3 billion. Text of once such Report is as follows, which is circulating on Social Media. Readers are requested to verify it from official sources before replying on the same.

FM Should clarify the actual figure and truth of this report and mere denial will not help. Further in case the Income Tax Department has not estimated it at Rs. 20000 crore than what figure is estimated by them should be made known to public.
