Ms. Katrina Kaif is a rather pained woman. The IT tax raids and the unsavoury publicity, notwithstanding, Kaif is rather miffed over tabloids tinting her a slimy tax evader. And this whole talk of her unaccounted moolah running into crores of rupees and the undisclosed lockers have quite rankled her starry nerves.

In an effort to set matters right; Katrina Kaif  swerved into damage control mode and had an official statement released by chartered accountant to the scribe tribe which goes as follows… “Recently, a search was conducted by the Income Tax Dept at the residence of my client Ms Katrina Kaif. My client is disturbed by the speculative reports circulating in the media that she has disclosed unaccounted income running into crores and unaccounted lockers were found. The fact of the matter is that no unaccounted income has been declared by her. Katrina is fully cooperating with the IT Dept, whom she holds in high regard.”

No unaccounted income declared, says Katrina’s accountant

Bollywood actress Katrina Kaif’s chartered accountant has shot down rumours that she declared an unaccounted income of Rs.6 crore when Income Tax (IT) sleuths raided her residence early this week.

‘A search was conducted by the Income Tax department (on Monday) at the residence of my client Ms. Katrina Kaif. My client is disturbed by the speculative reports circulating in the media that she has disclosed unaccounted income running into crores (of rupees) and unaccounted lockers were found.

‘The fact of the matter is that no unaccounted income has been declared by her. Katrina is fully cooperating with the IT department, which she holds in high regard,’ Katrina’s chartered accountant said in a press statement.

The IT department also raided the house and office premises of actress Priyanka Chopra, as well as celebrity photographer Atul Kasbekar. The officials were investigating whether the celebrity trio had paid taxes proportionate to the known income earned by them during the past year and more from various sources.
