Income-Tax Department raids Ahmedabad real estate firm

The Income-Tax Department on Sunday conducted searches in over a dozen premises of an Ahmedabad-based real estate development firm for tax evasion.

Over a dozen premises of Shaladia Construction were searched in Ahmedabad and Gandhinagar for tax evasion. So far, four bank lockers belonging to the group have been sealed,” said an I-T official on condition of anonymity.

Large scale incriminating documents were seized during the search operation pointing towards tax evasion, he said while refusing to divulge further details as the searches were still underway.
