Nirmala Sitharaman through its President CA Shailesh R Ghedia and Requested tor extension of due date for GST annual return of 2019-20 from 28th February 2021 to 30th June 2021. Relevant Text of this letter is as follows:-
Sub.:- Request for extension of due date for GST annual return of 2019-20
We have been receiving requests from trade associations, etc to extend date for annual return and GST audit for the year 2019-20 which is due on 28th February 2021.
For justification, we are sharing to following reasons to look into it
We request to consider extension in larger interest of nation, and public and under any circumstanstances, IT IS HIGHLY DESIRABLE, ATLEAST FOR MUMBAI METROPOLITAN AREA, being most aggrieved area of the country.
Due to Covid Restriction in Mumbai & Maharashtra Date should be extended at least for one month
GST AUDIT-F.Y.2019-20 date should be extend because COVID19 affect till October-2020, all businessmen felt very trouble
