Gurugram, October 21, 2026 – Vishal Mega Mart Limited, a prominent player in the Indian retail sector, has announced its unaudited financial results for the second quarter and half-year ending September 30, 2026. The company reported a consolidated revenue from operations of ₹3,398.5 crores for Q2FY27, marking a 14.0% year-on-year growth despite the impact of a shift in the festive calendar. This shift resulted in a 3-4% reduction in same-store sales growth (SSSG), which stood at 5.4% for the quarter. Adjusting for this shift, SSSG would have been approximately 9%.

For the half-year period, Vishal Mega Mart’s revenue from operations reached ₹7,125.5 crores, reflecting a 16.4% increase compared to the previous year. The company added 53 gross new stores during this period, bringing the total store count to 844 across 582 cities. The operating EBITDA for H1FY27 was ₹649.2 crores, with a margin of 9.1%, slightly down from 9.4% last year, primarily due to operating deleverage caused by the festive shift.

The company’s profit after tax (PAT) for Q2FY27 grew by 3.7% to ₹157.9 crores, while the half-year PAT increased by 16.3% to ₹416.6 crores. Despite challenges such as inflationary pressures and lower fixed-cost absorption due to the festive shift, Vishal Mega Mart maintained its profitability. The company continued to expand its footprint, launching a new apparel format, ‘Belong & Co.’, targeting young, affluent urban consumers.

Vishal Mega Mart’s strategic focus on its own-brand offerings and customer-centric approach has been pivotal in sustaining growth. The company remains confident in the demand momentum as it approaches the Diwali and wedding season, with plans to capture growth opportunities while navigating an evolving geopolitical and inflationary environment. Analysts note that the company’s ability to adapt to shifting consumer demands and its robust expansion strategy are key factors supporting its growth trajectory in the competitive retail landscape.
