CBI ARRESTS AN INSPECTOR OF CENTRAL EXCISE IN A BRIBERY CASE
The Central Bureau of Investigation has arrested an Inspector of Central excise, Goa for demanding & accepting a bribe of Rs. 2700/- from the Complainant.
A case was registered on 29.5.2013 against the Inspector, Central Excise, Bicholim, Goa on the basis of a complaint. It was alleged that the accused earlier demanded Rs.5000/- per month from the official of an export company for not disturbing the company for another six months in excise matter. He also later demanded an AC Taxi for sight-seeing for his guests. He demanded Rs.2700/- towards taxi bill of his guests from the complainant.
CBI laid a trap and the accused was caught red handed while demanding & accepting the bribe of Rs. 2700/- from the Complainant.
The arrested accused is being produced today in the Designated Court at Goa.
