The Special Judge for CBI cases, Mumbai has convicted Smt. Kirti Rajesh Singh, then Senior Tax Assistant and Shri Rajesh Harbans Singh, then Tax Assistant of Customs(Preventive), Mumbai and sentenced them to undergo one year Rigorous Imprisonment with total fine of Rs.20,500/- in a bribery case.
CBI had registered case against Kirti Singh, Senior Tax Assistant and Shri Rajesh Harbans Singh, Tax Assistant, Customs (Preventive), New Custom House, Ballard Estate, Mumbai u/s.120-B IPC r/w. Sec.7, 13(2) r/w. 13(1)(d) of PC Act, 1988 for abusing their official position in obtaining a pecuniary advantage of Rs.75000/- from the Complainant for helping him in releasing his two Import Consignments of PVC Recycled Granules which were lying at GDL, Nhavasheva.
After investigation, a charge-sheet was filed on 29-06-2005 in the court of Special Judge for CBI cases, Mumbai against Smt. Kirti Rajesh Singh and Shri Rajesh Harbans Singh
The Trial Court found the accused guilty and convicted them.
