The claim of Donald Trump, the self-proclaimed messiah of peace that he and his administration “helped broker a full and immediate ceasefire, I think, a permanent one…ending a dangerous conflict of two nations with lots of nuclear weapons” has opened a Pandora’s Box as to his intentions and integrity when he made his unilateral proclamation especially knowing well about the roots of 9 / 11 bombing attack on America and its connection with Usama-Bin-Laden, London bombings and the various terrorist activities directed against India and Pakistan’s complicity with such actions and still he equated India, a peace loving largest democracy of the worldand Pakistan, an army controlled theocratic Islamic nation and harbinger of global terrorism of the worldon the same pedestal. In spite of the ghastly attack by terrorists on the innocent tourists in Pahalgam which killed 26 tourists mainly targeted Hindu tourists, though a Christian tourist and a local Muslim were also killed in the attack, Trump helped the rogue state Pakistan to get their much-needed IMF bailout financing and helping them from being branded as a part and parcel of TRF outfit in spite of the fact that TRF owned the responsibility for the terror massacre. (The Resistance Frontis a militant organisation actively engaged in the insurgency in Jammu and Kashmir, and designated as a terrorist organisation in India.) The irony of the Pakistan bailout funding is also the consequence coming out of China’s support to sanction the bail out fund to save Pakistan from the impending financial disaster and despite political and ideological rivalry and the trade and tariff confrontations going on between USA and China, Trump facilitated Pak bailout sanction sided with China support to Pak.
It is a globally well-known fact that Pakistan since 2008 has been appearing in the ‘grey list’ of Financial Action Task Force (FATF) due its persistent support to state sponsored epicentre of terrorism and knowing well how the previous bailout funds have been utilised for the purpose fomenting terrorism by non-state actors particularly against India, how Donald Trump facilitated the IMF financial help to bailout Pakistan without ensuring the end use and soliciting a ceasefire? IMF financial assistance are designed for helping micro economic stability of the distressed nations and not to serve as means to geopolitical equilibrium, tactical debt negotiation, or state sponsored terror funding. If America being a largest shareholder of IMF continues to influence decisions through the narrow prism of strategic political rivalry rather than economic merits and objectives, then both moral and ethical authority and institutional authority are at risk. By supporting the rogue state Pakistan, President Trump wants to show his one-upmanship over his rival China to keep Pakistan under their control for perpetuating their own political and military global agenda.
It is shocking and surprising to note that there was a paradigm shift in the approach of the U S administration at the time of the attack and the subsequent escalation of the military actions between India and Pakistan culminating in the President Trump’s unilateral declaration that he and his administration ““helped broker a full and immediate ceasefire”. The visible shift as reported in the NEWSWEEK dated 25.05.2025 (quote) “ In the wake of the attack, the Trump administration has unequivocally condemned the act of terrorism and voiced its support for India. On Thursday, U.S. State Department Spokesperson Tammy Bruce stated, “As President Trump and Secretary Rubio have made clear, the United States stands with India, strongly condemns all acts of terrorism.” Bruce further emphasized that the U.S. is “monitoring the situation closely,” but refrained from taking a stance on the territorial dispute over Kashmir, recognizing the delicate balance needed in addressing the complex issue.”
“Vice President J.D. Vance was in India during the attack in Kashmir, but his trip was part of a previously planned diplomatic mission aimed at strengthening U.S.-India relations. In the aftermath, Vance also reaffirmed U.S. support for India, condemning the attack and emphasizing the importance of the U.S.-India partnership. His visit underscored the strategic significance of bilateral ties, particularly as tensions with Pakistan escalated. Vance’s presence at such a critical moment allowed for immediate engagement with Indian leadership.” But all the aforesaid assertions changed drastically through the unilateral declaration of his proclamation of ceasefire even before the warring nations announced such a declaration. The pertinent question is whether President Trump and the U S administration trust Pakistan even after what happened immediately after the ceasefire. The sudden change in the approach of President Trump and his administration favouring Pakistan raises a legitimate doubt about the trustworthiness and credibility of the President and his administration and their actions are nothing but deceit.
Why America supports Pakistan which is a country of more than 200 million people with nuclear weapons, numerous Islamist terrorist groups, epicentre for terror and increasingly close ties to China? It is a fact that Pakistan was a close associate of American administration since its inception supporting U S global political, economic and military interests overtly or covertly to perpetuate the American dominance of the world. Further U S also needs Pakistan under their fold considering Pakistan’s present dependence on China for their political, economic and military survival and to counter the Chinese influence as a global economic and military power.
Operation Sindoor has taught us some great lessons and paradigm shift in dealing with terrorism. Operation Sindoor has shown not only Pakistan but also the world about India’s resolve turn into action of inflicting heavy damages to safely guarded terrorist and military installations in Pakistan and eliminating more than 100 terrorists sheltered inside Pakistan spreading the message that it is not business as usual and that Operation Sindoor is only suspended for the time being and it will be a continuing operation as and when needed till terrorism is wiped out. The paradigm shift are (i) Talks and Trade cannot go alongside terror. (ii) Water and blood cannot flow together (iii) Way of peace goes through strength. The message is very clear without any ambiguity. Prime Minister Modi’s hard hitting on Operation Sindoor signalled the paradigm shift in our nation’s approach to terrorism. His resolve to fight terrorism is very clear and resounding. He proved, “The ultimate measure of a man is not where he stands in moments of comfort and convenience, but where he stands in times of challenge and controversy.” The most important lesson that the Operation Sindoor has taught us is that the world knows only the language of power i.e. Economic Power and Military Power. Our nation is on the way to achieve that might. What we need is unity and the integrity to keep this nation together and to work in unison to make this heritage nation the greatest economic and military power to create a powerful welfare state. Can our political disposition and politicians work towards achieving the objective?
