The Institute of Company Secretaries of India (ICSI), a statutory body under an Act of Parliament functioning under the Ministry of Corporate Affairs, announced the constitution of two new “Evolving Chapters” under its Chapter Management Guidelines, 2024, as part of its broader outreach and professional development vision. On 18 January 2026, ICSI informed stakeholders that the Jabalpur Chapter (Madhya Pradesh) has been constituted as an Evolving Chapter of WIRC, in accordance with Section IX of the ICSI Chapter Management Guidelines, 2024. The Institute described this as a major step in strengthening institutional presence beyond metro cities and improving engagement with students, members, and other stakeholders. The Jabalpur Evolving Chapter is expected to function as a dynamic platform for organizing career awareness programmes, professional development initiatives, and community-building activities, aiming to connect and inspire future governance professionals. Subsequently, on 19 January 2026, ICSI similarly announced the constitution of the Rewari Chapter (Haryana) as an Evolving Chapter of NIRC, also under Section IX of the same guidelines. This development too was highlighted as part of ICSI’s continued effort to expand its institutional footprint and enhance regional accessibility of professional programmes and engagement opportunities. Both announcements reiterate ICSI’s commitment to empowering the next generation of corporate governance professionals by widening grassroots outreach and supporting structured local professional ecosystems through evolving chapter platforms, while inviting continued participation and support from all members and stakeholders.
