Institute of Company Secretaries of India (ICSI) has announced the launch of two new full-time academic programs aimed at enhancing career prospects for its students. These include an Integrated MBA in Maritime Regulations and Compliance Management in collaboration with Gujarat Maritime University (GMU), and a Corporate and Securities Markets Compliances (CSMC) – Professional Program offered at the National Institute of Securities Markets (NISM). The MBA program focuses on regulatory and compliance aspects of the maritime sector, which plays a vital role in India’s trade, handling approximately 95% of volume and 70% of trade value. It integrates the CS curriculum with maritime laws, offering hands-on industry exposure. Interested students must register by 31 May 2025 at ICSI-GMU MBA link.
The second initiative, the CSMC-Professional Program, is an extension of the MoU signed between ICSI and NISM in July 2024. It is open to students who have completed the CS Executive Program and enrolled in the CS Professional Program or those who have cleared the CSMC Executive level. This residential program is conducted at the NISM campus and emphasizes securities markets compliance. Registrations close on 30 May 2025, and more details are available at ICSI-NISM link.
These programs are designed exclusively for ICSI students and aim to align academic training with sector-specific regulatory requirements in maritime and financial services.

Unlock new career opportunities with the ICSI’s two new full-time Programs
The Institute of Company Secretaries of India has introduced two new programs for its students – a Full-time MBA in Maritime Regulations and Compliance Management at Gujarat Maritime University, and the CSMC- Professional Program at NISM.
Expressing his delight, CS Dhananjay Shukla, President, the ICSI said “these programs would significantly enhance career trajectories for CS professionals and equip them with the expertise needed to navigate the evolving demands of marine and financial sectors. While the Full-time MBA in Maritime Regulations and Compliance Management is aimed at providing opportunities in maritime industry, the Joint Certification Course on Corporate and Securities Markets Compliances (CSMC), will offer specialized insight into the securities markets.
Maritime Industry makes significant contribution to India’s trade and commerce, handling around 95% of trade by volume and 70% by value. The two-year Integrated MBA in Maritime Regulations and Compliance Management, at Gujarat Maritime University campus, will be a unique blend of CS curriculum and maritime laws and regulatory practices. This joint collaboration will give a hands-on exposure to the students, enhance their skills and improve their employability in areas of maritime laws and shipping management Students registered with the ICSI are eligible to apply for the entrance examination of this full time MBA course, the details of which are available at https://www.icsi.edu/mba-gmu/. The ICSI inked an MoU with National Institute of Securities Markets (NISM) in July 2024 and introduced the CSMC Executive Program exclusively for the students of ICSI. This year the ICSI initiated registration for the Residential Integrated CSMC – Professional Program. Both Certifications- Corporate and Securities Markets Compliances– Executive (CSMC-Executive); and Corporate and Securities Markets Compliances– Professional (CSMC-Professional), are being offered at the NISM campus.
ICSI students, who have cleared CS Executive Program and enrolled in the CS Professional Program or Cleared CSMC Executive Program offered by NISM, are eligible to register for CSMC Professional Program, details of which are available at https://www.icsi.edu/home/icsi-nism/.
